Indonesian-Sumatra 1lb Whole Bean- Natural Processed

This naturally processed Sumatran coffee is a rare departure from the region’s more common wet-processed, wet-hulled methods. Traditionally, coffee cherries in Sumatra are pulped, fermented, and partially dried to about 30–40% moisture before being transported to wet-hulling mills. There, specialized equipment is required to remove the parchment from still-moist seeds—much like trying to shell a damp peanut, which takes significantly more force. After wet hulling, the beans are further dried to a final moisture content of 10–12%.

At the Ribang Gayo Musara Cooperative Asman Arianto has produced this Natural processed coffee, considered an experimental micro lot with limited availability.  Many high quality lots stay in Indonesia for local production. We are bringing this high-quality special coffee to you.

Our medium roast protects complex flavors that can develop in this coffee and has produced an incredible cup—bright, fruit-driven, and exceptionally clean. The cup opens with tropical fruit, honey, and sweet cream. Beneath the fruit lies a subtle structure of warm spice and soft cedar, grounding the profile in its origin. The body is full and silky, with a juicy sweetness that carries through a long, balanced finish.
