About Taka Coffee Co

I was a geologist for most of my career. Years spent in remote corners of the world changed how I see land, people, and craft. Somewhere between long days in the field and time off spent scuba diving, I began visiting local coffee farms. What started as curiosity became respect - for place, culture, and the people behind every cup.

Coffee is hard work. Growing it, harvesting it, and processing it requires skill, patience, and generations of knowledge most people never see. Once you understand that, coffee stops being a commodity and becomes a connection.

We started thinking about coffee back in ’97, before it was packaged as a lifestyle. No investors. No shortcuts. Just a refusal to drink bad coffee and years of learning the hard way, on the road and at origin. That path eventually led us to Denver, where we built Taka Coffee Co. from the ground up.

Today, we source coffees that matter and roast them in small batches with intent. No stale inventory. No corporate middlemen. No pretense. Just honest coffee, rooted in origin, shaped by experience, and made to be enjoyed by anyone who values a great cup.

Because great coffee isn’t just roasted.  It’s lived.

If you’re reading this, you’re part of the beginning of our journey, and we’re glad you’re here. We’re excited to share what we’re building and even more excited to be part of your daily ritual—one cup at a time.

Welcome to Taka Coffee Co.  Let’s brew something great.
